Daddy had a red pickup Loaded up the watermelons and Drove out to old Iron Mountain Three hundred sixty-five miles to Hall Mill Road Every Sunday momma said a prayer For the old man in the rocking chair Called out to me and my brother She said remember the life you save may be your own I'm goin' home where the angels are singin' momma Up from the old wooden house, rain is fallin' I hear the sweet bye and bye, boys are cryin' Momma done told me the life you save may be your own Livin' in an old cracker house Right along that dirt road and we'd Work 'til we heard momma holler She said daddy's goin' make sure we reap just what we sow Momma loved to sing a song or two Swingin' on that front porch and she'd Call out for an invocation And when she hit the refrain we'd join right in I'm goin' home where the angels are singin' momma Up from the old wooden house, rain is fallin' I hear the sweet bye and bye, boys are cryin' Momma done told me the life you save may be your own Momma stood up from the rocking chair She waved the dogs away and she Ambled inside very slowly Well I'll never forget when I heard her call my name Runnin' up the steps I found that she'd Fallen on the kitchen floor and she Murmured she'd like Coca-Cola The last words that she heard me say were "bye momma" I'm goin' home where the angels are singin' momma Up from the old wooden house, rain is fallin' I hear the sweet bye and bye, boys are cryin' Momma done told me the life you save may be your own

Boy from Black Mountain rode down from the hills on a black-and-white horse he called Buffalo Bill and he reached out his arms as they galloped up over the moon. The people cheered on as he raced through the trees and he tried to forget it was only a dream as they stood and applauded him, threw him his own big parade. Boy from Black Mountain flew down from a cliff in a hot-air balloon built by Jonathan Swift and he hoisted his flag as he landed down onto the dune. He soared over trees with the greatest of ease like that daring young man on the flying trapeze, he had no fear of heights and no enemies inside the dream. He'll soon ride his rocket ship off to the moon and he won't be returning here anytime soon and he'll wave us goodbye as he launches out into the blue. But today take his hand let him play in the sand and name all of the beautiful things in the land and hold on to his dreams before anyone steals them away.

Judgment Day 03:55
In the sun, with withered skin Walked a man, of humble kin He'll soon be free from his worldly trials His body at rest down in the old churchyard All his life he would toil for day and night Hear the voice of your master callin you Momma said Take my hand, walk to the river with me and Wash your sins away for the judgment day All the boughs will break beneath your feet so Pray with me and fear the judgment day Evening falls, he kneels by the bed Loneliness enters in his head Like a child he folds his weathered hands And whispers the words he barely understands In the dark he awaits a moment of grace As she promised him as the tears ran down her face Momma said Take my hand, walk to the river with me and Wash your sins away for the judgment day All the boughs will break beneath your feet so Pray with me and fear the judgment day
